Holy Mass in Tamil (Special Women's Day Mass)

The February gathering started with holy mass in Tamil solemnized by Rev. Fr. Shekar with homily given by Rev. Fr. Alex followed by a reception at St. Cecilia’s community Hall. The gather-ing also saw overwhelming response to Raffle tickets sale. Tickets were sold at the beginning of the reception followed by drawing three winners. Little children were asked to pick winners from the lot. Rev. Fr. Johnson assisted in Raffle ticket sale and Rev. Fr. Cyril volunteered to conduct the drawing. The meeting concluded by celebrating February Birthdays and Anniversaries by cutting of the cake. A lot of new Tamil catholic families joined the UTC family in this gather-ing. The feedback response from the new families was amazing.

The United Tamil Catholics gather-ing held on February 6th marked a milestone in its history by starting free Tamil classes for children ages 3 to 15 years. Rev. Fr. Balavendiram Rathinam inaugurated the occasion by releasing the student workbook materials for the classes. Children were divided into three classes based on their age groups. Each class had 2 volunteer teachers. The classes were held at St. Cecilia’s Reception hall following the 3 PM Tamil mass. The Tamil classes not only aim at imparting knowledge of Tamil literature but also inculcating an awareness of our Tamil and Indian Culture in the Youth of today. The classes are planned to be conducted during every UTC gathering held once a month following the Tamil Mass. Way of the Cross and Holy Mass in Tamil

First of all, we extend our Easter greetings to all our lovely UTC members and their families. By rising from His death, Our Lord Jesus assured us that He would also rise us from our death of sin. In the April gathering of United Tamil Catholics, we had a way of the cross in Thamizh. It gave all the UTC members a very rare opportunity to meditate upon Our Lord’s sufferings to save us from our sins during the lent season in our own language. It was well organized by Vincent, Pradeep, and the Liturgy Team. It was followed by a Holy Mass in Thamizh celebrated by our UTC priests, the main celebrant being Rev. Fr. Aro. There was a soul touching homily given by Rev. Fr. Antony Jagathees. After the Holy Eucharist, there was a fellowship in the Lourdes Hall. Kids had lot of fun playing together.
